Have you seen those catchy advertisements on instagram and facebook about a fitness program that promises amazing changes in 28 days?
Yes, I’m talking about the @fitgirlsguide 28 day jumpstart program.
The transformation of the people there are awesome! Imagine, 28 days and you will be completely changed! Some lose 10 lbs on their first try, others even more!
How exciting!
Note: I am not in any way being paid for this review. This is based on my personal experience while using the program.
Maybe you have been following them on social media for a while, you really were intrigued on how it works, but still a little bit suspicious, so you haven’t made up your mind.
Here is my personal review of the fitness program and little more explanation on how it works.
What is it exactly?
A 28 day program that you have to follow.
This is an E-BOOK titled 28 DAY JUMPSTART, and it looks like this:
It contains:
1. Basic weight loss concepts and fitness tips
2. Exercise calendar that you need to follow for 28 days
3. Exercise guides (illustrated) so you would know how to do them properly
4. Recommended menu for the whole 28 days
5. Grocery list every week (this is my favourite!)
6. Recipe
In summary, it is a complete guide! Just
1. Purchase the e-book from their website: www.fitgirls.com, which costs around 25 to 30 USD, depending on whether they are ON SALE or not!
They will send you the link so you can download it on your computer or tablets.
2. Read
3. FOLLOW EVERYTHING
How I wish it’s really that easy. We know that change can be really really scary, right? So the creators of the program (THE MOTHERSHIP), built a wonderful online support group for men and women doing the same program. This is a totally different fit universe where people support and cheer for you on your own fitness journey.
I will have a separate post on how to join the @fitgirlsguide support group on instagram to maximize the fitness experience.
So how did it go for me?
E-book: Fitness concepts are easy to understand, tips are fun, the terms are too “girly” for my liking but they are effective nonetheless.
Exercises: Simple and fit for beginners, they are manageable, even for those who are on the heaviest side (I know someone who started at 200 + lbs and she is doing awesome up to now). I uploaded some video tutorials of the fitgirlsguide exercises here, so you can check them out.
Food: Awesome, awesome, awesome! This is my favorite part.
I have a separate food post here.
Just a little background. Even before starting this program, I was already exercising regularly. I’m sporty and on the lighter side of the spectrum. I have never been overweight, if that’s what you want to read. So why the hell did I join this program?
I joined because at that time, I was about to get married and still don’t know how to cook. I don’t even eat vegetables, and most of the time I eat fried processed food. I know that I’m slim but not healthy. I realized that if I want to live longer and have a family, I need to change.
I need to learn how to eat healthier so I can take care of my future family. Fast forward to 18 months of doing the program, I am at my healthiest and strongest state.
Now let’s get back to food.
Their food/menu is amazing. No food group is banned. You can have carbs, dairy, protein, greens in your meal. You just have to learn “portion control”.
The grocery list is my favorite because you can maximize almost every ingredient if you follow the weekly menu.
The recipe is straight forward, even kitchen newbies like me can make them.
They have pizza, pasta, pancakes, tacos and burgers! Yes, no kidding!
The trick is that they replaced “unhealthy ingredients” with healthier alternatives. They “fitgirlfied” common comfort foods so you won’t feel deprived while doing the program.
Here are some of my own creations.
Here are my progress photos and some progress photos of other fitgirls (yes, I asked permission from them). You can go follow them on instagram and be inspired.
Update: I recently changed my instagram handle from @fitgirl_maycroft to @maya.getsfit follow me there. ❤️

This is the end of my review. It’s quite obvious that I really enjoyed this program. That’s why I’m still here, going stronger and stronger everyday.
The important point is, you have to work and follow the guide (work out 3 to 6 times a week and eat healthier). Yep, no shortcuts, I’m sorry. The guide is there to help you, but you have to exert effort and do the work!
I have successfully convinced some of my real life friends to join the program and they are also loving the #fitgirl life. We now call it a lifestyle, not a diet.
The next challenge starts on May 22, 2017 so what are you waiting for?
